Three weeks ago Wednesday morning at 2am I woke up, but I was wide awake. I lay in my bed and thought what now? I get this message in my head that I have a friend ( family of 4) who has no groceries whatsoever in their cupboard and they are hungry. My instruction was clear to buy them groceries.
Whilst having breakfast at my favourite "orange" coffee shop, the owner says that if I buy a tub of soup she will give me another one free. Then I remembered my instruction again. I bought 4 tubs and got 4 for free. After breakfast I went to Spar and bought groceries, random stuff not knowing what they like or have or I may be wasting my time as they might not need this stuff.
I phoned them and said I am coming for coffee. I could hear I was welcome but there was a problem. I had a good feeling that I was not going to embarres myself.
When I arrived there, the husband came out to greet me, I opened my boot and said please help me with these few packets of groceries. He was silent. After a few minutes he said, "No way". I said "what." He said last night they prayed for manna. He said they weren't going to ask his or her family for help, as they do not know what sort of predicament they in.
He showed me that they were just about to have lunch. They had 2 slices of bread left and a few provitas. The kids were sent to school with dry bread. They had no coffee,milk or sugar and they didnt know how they were going to tell me.
Then the scary part was as the wife was unpacking she couldnt believe that everything I bought was each member of the families favourite food.
Anyway it does not end there - because it was God’s instruction for me to buy the groceries, He wanted to pay for it too. On my way to breakfast that morning, I received a call from a student who wanted a net for his tennis court. I made inquiries and sold the net to him for R200 less than he would have gotten it from Sportsmans. The profit I made was R3 less than what I spent on groceries that day!
The groceries lasted long enough before they recieved money that was owed to them.
Hows that!
Hence the reason for me wanting to lead a more healthy life style. As Roelof preached about us being healthy its true, you want to do more as you have more energy etc etc.
