Leadership

LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE & STYLE

During the first few years of The Barn we worked with a Steering Committee that helped us to lead the church.  We believe in team and team ministry.  We believe that a major strength of The Barn has been our leadership style.  The Barn is led by a team of mature men and woman who desire God's best for the church.

As much as we are convinced that God uses a leader to lead His people we are also convinced that Godly leadership is not dominance or control over God's work or His people.  Our team is led by a team leader/lead elder (Roelof Kwant). Whilst there are a number of different leadership styles we have a "team with a leader as apposed to a leader with a team", although a subtle difference on paper it is a major difference in practice.

We have established an Eldership Team who will have the function of oversight and governance. Our Leadership Team meet weekly to pray and develop the vision and the way forward for The Barn.

We also have the department leaders overseeing many of the departments in the church.  All our leaders are open and available to meet with members of the congregation.
